Blasian Narratives - Volume I

Neko Davis

Creative Content Intern

Born: CA
Raised: CA
Currently: Perris, CA

Neko is a 3/4 Black and a 1/4 Japanese chick, who is proud of her heritage… but struggles sometimes to identify visually who she is in the mirror. She currently works at the Disneyland resort within the Entertainment department, as well as models, dances, paints, and acts on the side for an artistic release and hobby. Neko graduated from the University of California – Irvine with her B.A. in Drama, and has dreams of becoming a Creative Executive at the Disney Animation Studios for TV and Film projects. Neko likes to joke that she is made of brown sugar, cocoa, honey, gold, and a handful of Japanese Cherry blossoms. She is proud of who she has become through self discovery and understanding her cultural roots. She is proud of the history that fills her veins, soul, and spirit. The history of slavery, the history of the samurai and shogunate, and the strength of both cultures to fight and survive. It is their legacy that she feels in her veins, it is their legacy that she strives to uphold, and it is their legacy that she plans to someday pass on to her children.
