Blasian Narratives is a multi-media project (live performances and videos) that highlights the intimate intersection of mixed Black and Asian identities. Blasian Narratives’ mission is to inspire, restore, and empower identity affirmations through fostering a healthy dialogue of identity formations ranging from personal to societal, as they pertain to race and culture. We bring historically polarized communities and perspectives together by illustrating the complexities and unity of identity awareness–how you see yourself versus how you are seen–in hopes of building solidarity along the way.
We’ve had the privilege of being covered by Afropunk, NBC, Kore Asian Media, Psychology Today, and many others for our work. Our cast members have traveled to perform and facilitate workshops at universities, such as Morehouse & Spelman Colleges, Claremont Colleges, Stanford University, and more. We have also had the privilege of screening our film at several film festivals. In the near future, we will be screening our film and performing at many more festivals and institutions. As we transition into something bigger and more sustainable, we are looking for others to join our team as interns, media writers, and more. Individuals joining as cast members may have the opportunity to have all-expense paid travels, and there may be similar opportunities for members in other roles as well. We invite you to be a part of this creative film and theatre startup to make a difference in the world!
